Integration

I decided to integrate them and sculpted around broken body parts. Integrating discarded parts, pieces of sculptures or paintigns has always been included in my process of working.Survival itself forged my strength. Having weathered the breaking point, I know now that nothing can truly shatter me. This philosophy permeates my entire artistic process, exemplified in this piece. Here, fractured remnants of a previous sculpture find new life, seamlessly integrated and sculpted around. Growing up in post-communist Poland, the concept of waste was alien. Everything held the potential for a second chance, a new story. This artwork embodies that spirit – a testament to resilience, where fragments are not cast aside, but rather become the building blocks of something new and beautiful.

Materials: Earthenware glazed ceramic, plaster, wood, wheels, bricks, light

These pieces are actually remnants of an arch that either collapsed or exploded in the kiln. I've put them together in this arrangement to create an installation that transforms the space from a garden into a portal.
